Did you experience difficulty accessing your Slack account today, only to find out it’s been deactivated? It’s likely due to our recent policy update. Read on to learn more in our FAQ below and what to do to get your account back!

1.Why can’t I access my account anymore?

  • Your account has been deactivated due to recent changes in our community policies. Starting from March 18, 2024, accounts with commercial motives are required to transition to Vendor accounts and pay for advertising their offerings within the community. Accounts that did not comply with this policy have been deactivated, and all of their posts have been removed accordingly. Read more about Vendor accounts here https://liveitup-laspalmas.com/vendors-terms-conditions/

2. How were these changes communicated to the community?

  • These changes were communicated through multiple channels, including Instagram, Slack with @everyone notifications, our website www.liveitup-laspalmas.com, in our weekly announcement message and it was (in most cases) also communicated directly to you as a comment on one of your latest posts.

3. Can I reactivate my account?

4. I’ve been a member for a while; are there any discounts available for transitioning to a Vendor account?

  • There were discounts available for accounts that converted within specific timeframes. However, as of March 18, 2024, there are no more special discounts available. If you pay for the full year, you will receive 2 months free.

5. What happens if I choose not to transition to a Vendor account?

  • If you choose not to transition to a Vendor account, your account will remain deactivated. Engaging in any attempt to circumvent fees, by (for example, but not limited to) registering under a different email address, is strictly prohibited. Such actions are considered a violation of our terms of service and will result in a permanent ban from our platform.

This also includes asking another member to promote your products/services. Their posts will be deleted immediately and these actions puts their account at risk of being deactivated too.

6. I don’t plan to share commercial posts frequently but I want to stay a member. Can I just pay for one-off promotions instead?

7. How can I get further assistance or clarification on these changes?

  • For any further assistance or clarification regarding these changes, please feel free to reach out to the community admin directly via nelleke@liveitup-laspalmas.com. Also reach out if you believe your account was deactivated by mistake.
