Events for remote workers & digital nomads
It’s never boring in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria with lots of spontaneous, one-off and recurring events and meetups! To check all events, is best to check the social channels in Slack.
The two meetups below are the ones Live it up, Las Palmas! is hosting every week, so you will find me there, if you want to come say hi! I’m always there from the start of the meetup, to welcome new arrivals.
- Tuesday at 8PM – we have our weekly social meetup at Bar San Remo. This is the biggest event for socializing and the best introduction to the community. Check my reels on Instagram to get an idea of the meetups!
- Wednesday at 7PM – it’s Funky Tacos with delicous Mexican food and custom made cocktails at MAZU. It’s a 100% social event, but this time with food and cocktails! Different menu every week.
The history of Live it up, Las Palmas!
The original digital nomads Slack group of Las Palmas was founded in 2020, two years after I started the digital nomads community back in 2018. We simply needed a communication tool during the pandemic, for everyone in the community to stay connected and easily meet up. If you want to know the history of this community, check this article!
The majority of the community lives in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, but there are also more and more digital nomads exploring the south of the island. For that reason, there’s a special section in the group for everyone living in the south. This includes cities and towns like Maspalomas, Puerto Rico, Arguineguin and Puerto de Mogan. On the other hand, there’s also a channel for people living in the north, like Agaete, Arucas and Teror.
Biggest and most active digital nomad community in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria
This Slack community is still growing fast and is incredibly active! The group is actively monitored and all questions are answered as soon as possible by community members and the admin, me. Right now, we are 7.800+ members, with hundreds of active daily members!
The group is split up into different subgroups, like hiking, yoga, meetups, language exchanges, sports and more. This way it’s easy to find what you are looking for and we keep the group organized.
Read the community rules before joining
With so many members, it’s important that there are some rules in place, to make sure everyone can have a good time and feels safe and comfortable. Please take some time to read the community rules. Click here to read the community rules.
