To help your post stand out (and avoid a flood of “Is this still available?” messages), make sure to include:
- Price (per day, week or month, plus any long-term deals)
- Availability dates
- Interior photos (bedroom, kitchen, bathroom — not just the view)
- Location (neighbourhood or general area)
- Extras like Wi-Fi speed, pet policy, workspace, laundry, terrace, etc.

❓ I’m not the owner. I’m just looking for a flatmate. Do I still need to pay?
Yes. If you’re advertising a paid room, even if it’s a shared space, it’s considered commercial. You or the owner will need to pay. No exceptions.
❓ I’m subletting my flat just for the summer. Does that count as commercial?
Yes. If money is involved, it’s commercial. Please use Option 1 or 2.
❓ I’m offering a room in exchange for pet sitting or house help. Do I need to pay?
Yes. Even if no money is exchanged, if you benefit from the arrangement, it still counts as a commercial post.
❓ Can I post in another Slack channel instead?
No. #accommodation_offers is the only approved channel for housing. Posts elsewhere will be deleted, and rule-breaking will lead to a temporary ban.
❓ Can I post again later for new dates?
Yes, but if you’re using a one-time ad, you’ll need to pay again. Vendor accounts can post once per week without extra cost.
❓ Can I share my Instagram post or Airbnb link in the Slack post?
Absolutely. Just make sure the main info is also in the Slack post, and your listing looks complete and trustworthy.
❓ Can I post on behalf of someone else?
Yes, but you (or they) still need to pay and follow the same steps. No workaround allowed.
