The beach is known for its calm sea and clear waters, making it the perfect place to enjoy kayaking without any prior experience. Salitre sport is renting out kayaks, the normal red/yellow kayaks and the translucent ones. They usually only rent out during low-tide.

Las Alcaravaneras beach is another destination for kayaking, although it is less attractive to travelers and visitors due to the port that surrounds the beach. The views are not as nice as they are from Las Canteras. It is, however, a popular training spot for professional canoeists in the capital!
