A Week in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria as a Digital Nomad or Remote Worker: Where to Work, Eat & Socialise

A Week in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria as a Digital Nomad or Remote Worker: Where to Work, Eat & Socialise

Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is hands down one of the best places in Europe for digital nomads. Sunshine year-round, fast Wi-Fi, affordable living, and a strong international community—what’s not to love? But if it’s your first time here, you might feel a little lost.

Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered. Here’s a one-week guide to settling in, getting productive, and making the most of your time in this amazing city.

Monday: Find Your Flow

It’s your first day, and you need to get into work mode. Skip the distractions and head to Un Lugar, the only 100% laptop-friendly café in the city. Need more options? Luwak is another great spot with good coffee and a welcoming vibe.

After a productive day, it’s time to unwind. How about sunset yoga with Sasha? It’s the perfect way to relax after staring at your screen all day (check Slack for details). Then grab dinner at Nákar or Napoli Mia—two of my favourites with amazing food.

Tuesday: Socialise & Connect

Start your day with breakfast at La Picnicteria or Organic Jungle before diving into work. If you’re serious about staying long-term, why not sign up for Spanish classes? ZunSún Academy offers in-person lessons, or you can study online with Corrivia for private tutoring.

By the evening, it’s time to meet people! Every Tuesday at 8 PM, our community gathers at Bar San Remo for a casual meetup. Whether you’re new or already settled, it’s a great way to connect over drinks. You’ll meet other digital nomads, but also immigrants, locals, remote workers and the occasional tourist!

Ps. if you’re here in the Summer of 2025, we’re actually taking a short break from our community meetup! But fear not, there’s still a bunch of regulars going to the bar every week, between 8pm and 10pm.

Wednesday: Mid-Week Recharge

By now, you’re in the groove. Need a fresh workspace? Try the popular Sky Coworking or switch it up at White Forest for a more focused workday. For lunch, head to Llévame Al Huerto—they also have excellent vegetarian options.

If you want to treat yourself, grab a sweet or savoury treat from Bakery de Stefano—their cookies and (flat) croissants are legendary.

In the evening, head to Paddy’s Anchor, an Irish pub where you can also catch live sports.

Thursday: Another Great Night to Meet People

Set up your laptop at Luwak for breakfast and a relaxed work session. For lunch, try Tasca Galileo, a great spot for local flavours and just a few minutes away from Luwak.

Las Palmas de Gran Canaria isn’t just about work—you’re on a paradise island, so make the most of it! Start your Saturday with a surf lesson. If surfing isn’t your thing, there are hiking trips every Saturday and Sunday—an amazing way to explore Gran Canaria’s stunning landscapes. Make sure to heck our #hiking channel in Slack for more information.
