Yoga is an ancient practice that has been gaining popularity in recent years as a form of physical and mental exercise. There are many different variations of yoga, each with its own unique focus and benefits.
Bikram yoga, also known as hot yoga, is practiced in a room heated to 105 degrees Fahrenheit and 40% humidity. This type of yoga is designed to detoxify the body and increase flexibility.
Yin yoga is a more meditative and relaxing form of yoga that focuses on holding poses for longer periods of time in order to stretch the connective tissue and improve flexibility.
Power yoga is a more physically challenging form of yoga that focuses on strength and endurance. It is often described as “gym yoga” because of its emphasis on fitness.
If you’re looking to become a yoga instructor, there are many different training programs available. These programs typically include a combination of classroom instruction and hands-on practice, as well as a final certification exam. After completing a training program, you will be qualified to teach yoga classes at studios, gyms, and other venues.
In Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, there are many yoga studios that offer a wide variety of classes for digital nomads, including Bikram, yin and power yoga. Some of the studios provide training for yoga instructors as well. These studios are a great place to find a community of like-minded people who are also looking to improve their physical and mental well-being.

Recommendations for power yoga on the beach?
I can recommend Rocket yoga classes at Yogahome Las Palmas – by far the best power yoga classes I’ve found in Las Palmas. The classes are in the studio, but personally I believe you can’t have proper yoga classes on uneven surface like the sand.

Ashtanga Yoga Canarias. I went there on Tuesday and I really liked the atmosphere. The Ashtanga Yoga is quite intense. The integral one is a bit slower.
Can anyone recommend a yoga studio in Las Palmas where they speak English?
I want to work someone for a couple of private lessons who can advise me on correct alignment to reduce some joint pain I have.
The two owners of Om Yoga Las Palmas in Las Canteras (John & Christelle) are Irish & French and I was really impressed with their eye for alignment and assists while practicing with them in December. They have mostly locals, so prices are low.

I did my teacher training at Power Yoga Canarias. Beautiful location on the La Puntilla side of Las Canteras.
