Ask LIU! Buying coffee beans in Gran Canaria

Coffee is one of the most widely consumed beverages in the world, enjoyed by millions of people on a daily basis. The key to a great cup of coffee is the quality of the beans used. Fresh coffee beans are the best way to ensure that your cup of joe is packed with flavor and aroma.

Benefits of using fresh coffee beans

One of the main benefits of using fresh coffee beans is that they retain their flavor and aroma for a longer period of time. As soon as coffee beans are roasted, they begin to release gases that can cause the beans to lose their flavor and aroma over time. Fresh beans have not had as much time to release these gases, which means they will have a stronger and more distinct flavor and aroma.

Another benefit of using fresh coffee beans is that they are often more consistent in terms of quality. When beans are roasted, they go through a number of quality checks to ensure that they meet certain standards. As beans age, their quality can vary, which can affect the taste and aroma of your coffee. Fresh beans are less likely to have this problem, as they have not had as much time to degrade.

Buying fresh coffee beans in Gran Canaria

When buying fresh coffee beans, it’s important to look for beans that have been roasted recently. The best beans will have a roast date on the packaging, which will indicate when the beans were roasted. It’s also important to note that beans can lose their freshness quickly, so it’s best to use them within a few weeks of the roast date.

Where can we buy the best (fresh) coffee beans in Las Palmas?

I think the most fresh coffee beans you can buy directly on the plantation. The one I know has a store and sells their coffee only there, it’s called Bodega los Berrazales.
