A broken zipper can be a frustrating problem to deal with, but a tailor or seamstress can quickly and easily replace the zipper, saving you the cost of buying a new piece of clothing. Shortening pants is another common alteration, which can be done to ensure a perfect fit or to update the look of your pants. Tailors and seamstresses are skilled in the art of altering garments and can provide a range of services to help you achieve the perfect fit and look for your clothes.

In addition to clothing alteration services, many tailors and cobblers in Gran Canaria also offer shoe repair services. Whether you have a favorite pair of shoes that need new heels or soles, or you have a tear in the upper of your shoe, a cobbler can help. They can fix and restore your shoes to like-new condition. They can also stretch shoes that are too tight or make them wider if they are too loose. With their experience and expertise, they can ensure that your shoes will be comfortable and look great again.

Can anyone recommend a clothing alteration service?

I’ve had some fixes done at Zara costurera and she seems good. I’ve never brought anything too complicated.

This one, Zara costurera, is usually fast and cheap.

You can try asking at a ‘costura‘, I know about one in Mercado del Puerto (right next to the entrance on Calle Tenrife 6) but there are more spread across the city.

Looking for a good place to repair shoes

Zapateria Menchu (near Alcaravaneras) is a good shoemaker. Decent guy running it, classic old-school shoemaker – I can recommend!

I had my shoes fixed at Reparador Del Calzado La Garantía on Calle Bernardo de la Torre 20. Definitely recommend. Cheap and fast! They also duplicate keys very cheap. The staff does not speak English.
