How It Works
- Make a payment:
- €6.90 (includes IGIC) for one ad → Stripe link
- Or sign up as a Vendor and post weekly → Launchpass link
- Message Nelleke (Founder of Live it up, Las Palmas!) on Slack with the email you used to pay.
- You’ll get (temporary) permission to post in the channel. This usually happens within 24 hours.

What to Include in Your Listing
- Price (daily, weekly, monthly and any long-term deals)
- Availability dates
- Interior photos (not just the view, we need to see the inside)
- Any other useful info that helps people say Yes!
🚫 Please only post in the #accommodation_offers channel. Posting accommodation in other channels will get your message deleted and will result in a temporary ban.
⚠️ Live it up, Las Palmas! is only a facilitator. We do not participate in any rental agreements and are not liable for any issues, disputes or damages.
🤔 Not Sure if Your Post Is Commercial?
It’s a common question, and a fair one. We get it: sometimes you’re just sharing something cool, and sometimes there’s a business goal behind it. Here’s how we define a commercial post in the Live it up, Las Palmas! community:
A post is considered commercial if it promotes paid services, products or events , even if they’re free to attend at first, but meant to convert people into customers later.
This includes (but isn’t limited to):
- Paid events, workshops or classes
- Free trial classes aimed at gaining clients
- Promoting your brand, website or business
- Hosting a “free” event where you benefit financially (like earning from venue sales)
If you’re unsure, the golden rule is simple:
If there’s a potential commercial benefit now or in the future, it’s commercial.
💡 Use the decision chart below to check for yourself. And if you’re still not sure, feel free to ask an admin before posting.
A Few Real-Life Examples
🧘♀️ “I’m a yoga teacher offering a free class to introduce my style.”
That’s lovely, but since it’s intended to attract paying clients, it’s commercial. Please purchase a one-time ad or become a Vendor.
🎤 “I’m hosting a community party with free entry!”
If the venue pays you commission on bar sales or any kind of kickback, that’s still commercial. Same rule: you’ll need to pay for a single post or get a Vendor subscription.
🛍️ “I’m clearing out my wardrobe and want to sell a few second-hand clothes.”
That’s personal. Go ahead and post for free in the #market_where-to-buy_rent_sell_donate channel.
📚 “I’ve written an ebook and want to share it with the group.”
If it’s for sale or part of a mailing list funnel, that’s commercial. You’ll need to pay to promote it.
👩🎨 “I make handmade jewellery and want to show people my new collection.”
That’s a business promotion. Please use a one-time ad or Vendor account.
🍰 “I’m hosting a bake sale for a friend’s charity.”
If 100% of proceeds go to the charity and you’re not promoting your business, that’s not commercial. Post for free, just include that it’s for a cause.
🎾 “I’m organising a casual beach volleyball game and looking for players.”
No fee, no business angle, just fun? That’s not commercial. Go ahead and post for free.
👩🏫 “I’m a Spanish teacher offering a free trial class.”
If it’s meant to attract paying students, it’s commercial. Please post via a paid option.
🚗 “I’m selling my car because I’m leaving the island.”
That’s a personal sale. Totally fine to post in the market channel for free.
📦 “I’m moving and giving away furniture for free.”
Also personal. Feel free to post it.
📱 “I want to share my Instagram account to grow my coaching brand.”
If it’s a business account, that’s commercial , even if the content is free. Please use a one-time ad or Vendor subscription.

Community Rules
To ensure a seamless experience for all members, it’s important for Vendors to familiarize themselves with and adhere to our community rules. These guidelines are designed to maintain the integrity of our platform, promote meaningful interactions, and uphold the values that define our community. By following these rules, Vendors contribute to a thriving ecosystem where everyone can connect, share, and thrive.

Repeated violations will lead to membership termination without refunds (in case of a Vendor account). Unsolicited DMs of a private nature, including attempts to hit on or pursue other members, are not allowed and may result in account restrictions. - Long Posts: If your post is lengthy (more than one mobile screen), provide a summary and post additional details/photos in the thread for clarity.
- Detailed Posts: Whether advertising services, products, or accommodation, include price, pictures (if applicable), and contact information. Detailed posts attract more interest and engagement.
- Avoid Controversy: Refrain from starting or engaging in discussions on polarizing subjects, including politics, religion, or controversial movements.
Posting Guidelines
- Channel Relevance: Use the appropriate channels for your messages and write only in one channel. With over 25 channels, there’s always a dedicated channel for your post.
- Local Focus: Only events/posts related to Gran Canaria are allowed to maintain the relevance of our community. Use #the-rest-of-the-world or #the-rest-of-the-canary-islands for unrelated posts.
- Prohibited Content: Sharing ‘get-rich-quick opportunities,’ investment opportunities, crowdfunding, affiliate links, multilevel marketing, and similar businesses is strictly prohibited. Your post will be deleted, and your account will be temporarily or permanently disabled.
The distribution of WhatsApp group links, or those of similar platforms, is governed by specific limitations. For instance, it is not permitted to share links to groups that have identical objectives to the channel where they are being shared, nor is it allowed to share links to groups that aim to bypass our community guidelines. Each link will be evaluated individually. - Accommodation Listings: Advertising accommodation is only allowed in #accommodation_offers. Listings must include price, photos of the inside of the property, and availability. Advertising in other channels will result in a temporary ban from the community. Read here how to get permission to post in #accommodation_offers.(Opens in new window)
