🌈 Holi Festival 2025 in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria: The Festival of Colours Hits the City
Get your white T-shirts ready and leave your fashion dignity at the door, because Holi Festival is coming to town, and it’s bringing a lot of powder.
On Sunday, June 29, 2025, the heart of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria will explode with colour, music, dancing, and pure, unfiltered joy. This isn’t just any party. It’s Holi, the ancient Indian Festival of Colours turned global celebration of love, unity, and letting go (preferably into a cloud of pink and green).
🎉 What Exactly Is Holi?
Holi is a Hindu spring festival that celebrates the arrival of new beginnings, the triumph of good over evil, and the idea that joy is better when it’s shared. Ideally while covered in head-to-toe rainbow dust. While its roots are spiritual, it’s grown into a massive multicultural party that invites everyone to join the fun. No matter your background, your rhythm (or lack thereof), or your stance on white jeans, you’re welcome.
This year’s event in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is shaping up to be a four-hour burst of happy chaos.
📍 Where and When

Date: Sunday, June 29, 2025
Time: 12:00 to 16:00

✨ What’s Happening?
Here’s what you can expect between giggles and gulps of mango lassi:
- 🎧 A live DJ bringing the beats (and probably a remix of Jai Ho, let’s be honest)
- 🥁 A Dhol player banging out some proper Indian rhythm
- 💃 Bollywood dance performances to make you question your own coordination
- 🎨 A free henna station to decorate your limbs like a work of art
- 🍛 Indian food stalls that smell like heaven and taste even better
- ❄️ A foam machine, because of course
- 🏰 Bouncy castle for the kids (and kids-at-heart)
- 👀 And plenty more surprises if you’re lucky
It’s joyful, it’s messy, it’s multigenerational, and it’s one of the few events where everyone leaves looking like a human tie-dye T-shirt.
👚 What to Wear (And Not Regret)
Wear white, the cheaper the better. You’re going to get absolutely blasted with colour, so leave your fancy clothes and shoes at home. Add sunglasses to protect your eyes and maybe tie up your hair unless you want it accidentally lavender until Thursday.
Pro tip: slather on some moisturizer beforehand. It helps the powder come off more easily. And maybe leave your best handbag at home unless it likes the boho look.
📸 Don’t Forget to Share the Chaos
Be sure to tag your pics with #HoliGranCanaria2025. Whether you look like a walking rainbow or a Jackson Pollock experiment gone rogue, you’re going to want photo evidence. Trust us.
🤝 Who’s Behind the Magic?
This colourful chaos is made possible by Club Indostánico Gran Canaria Sur and Boilly Events, with support from the Ayuntamiento de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Round of applause for the people who bring powdery joy to the city streets.
Whether you’re showing up solo, wrangling kids, or rolling in with your brunch crew, Holi is one of the happiest ways to spend a Sunday in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. It’s bright, it’s free, and it’s basically guaranteed to leave you smiling (and maybe a bit stained).
See you in the splash zone!
