Mercado del Puerto

Mercado del Puerto in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria offers a dynamic culinary experience, transforming from a morning grocery market to an evening food and drink spot. With a varied mix of food stalls, visitors can try Spanish tapas, Cuban cuisine, and more, all served by friendly and attentive staff.

There are also multiple restaurants inside Mercado del Puerto for tapas. It’s nice to go there on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening.
Geert

The addition of live music on Sunday afternoons adds to the lively atmosphere. While it can get loud (and parking can be a challenge), the market’s vibrant ambiance makes it perfect for sharing moments with family and friends.

The tapas bars around Mercado del Puerto have the best navajas, scallops and prawns on the island in my opinion.

While I have not personally visited Dedo de Dios, the restaurant has received numerous recommendations from our community members. The restaurant’s menu offers a diverse array of options, including traditional Canarian dishes and seafood specialties.

According to reviews, Dedo de Dios stands out for its delectable offerings. Dishes like papas arrugas, chipirones, and pulpo frito, known for their regional flavors, are highly recommended. The homemade desserts, such as the tarta de queso, are noted for their sweetness, providing a satisfying conclusion to the dining experience.

Affordability and Extras

A notable aspect of Dedo de Dios is its affordability. Reviewers have highlighted the cost-effective nature of dining here, with options like grilled chicken with fries and rice priced at under โ‚ฌ6.95 per person.

Service and Staff

Consistent praise has been directed towards the prompt and welcoming service provided at Dedo de Dios. Reviewers have highlighted the attentiveness of the staff, who are readily available to assist and offer recommendations. Despite the bustling ambiance, service remains efficient.

Considerations

While Dedo de Dios receives generally positive feedback, it’s important to mention a few minor considerations.
