In this article I explained the yellow shared bikes from Sitycleta/Moxsi. But there are also green bikes available! The green bikes are electric shared bikes and work the same as the normal yellow bikes. Except that they are a bit more expensive to rent, ofcourse.
Renting A bike With Sitycleta
- Register via their website or directly via the app in the Google Playstore or Apple App Store (you’ll need this app to rent a bike)
- Check your nearest electric bike station and bike availability. You can recogize the stations for electric bikes by the green lightning strike.
- Take a bicycle, scan the QR code with the app OR type in the code from the bicycle
- You’ll receive a 4 digit code in the app
- Enter this 4 digit code in the bicycle lock
- And go!
To Return Your Bike
- Check your nearest station to see if there’s a free spot for your bike
- Press OK on the BikeComputer and close the fork lock.
- Wait for the confirmation and you’re ready!
If you have a Sitycleta subscription, the first 30 minutes of renting the electric bike is free. Every additional 30 minutes costs €2,50.
If you don’t have a Sitycleta subscription, you’ll simply pay €2,50 for every 30 minutes you are using the electric bike.

Don’t Ride Your Bike On Paseo De Las Canteras
One more thing: riding a bicycle is NOT allowed on Paseo de Las Canteras (the boulevard next to the beach). You’re only allowed on the paseo with a bicycle between 1AM and 8AM. After all, the paseo is to pasear (to stroll, to take a walk)
