In the heart of Playa del Ingles, with so many pizza restaurants around, there’s one that’s really worth checking out: 450 Gradi. It’s good to know that, according to Google Maps reviews, the friendliness of the staff can be a bit hit or miss. But in the end, it’s all about the food!
I have visited their location Las Palmas de Gran Canaria a couple of times (some years ago), but I have no personal experience with this specific restaurant in Maspalomas. When I share my own experiences, this is related to my experiences in their venue in Las Palmas de GC.
24-Karat Gold Dishes
Now, 450 Gradi has a bit of a special touch – they add 24-karat gold to some of their dishes, even their coffee. While it sounds fancy, I personally don’t think it adds any value to the food and it’s just a way of marketing and trying to stand out.
Must Try Carbonara
One dish that’s mentioned a lot is the carbonara. This classic Italian pasta is served in a unique way – inside hollowed-out cheeses. It’s not just pretty cool to see, it’s also delicious, with creamy sauce, perfectly cooked pasta, and a hint of smokiness from the cheese. Reviews say it’s definitely a must-try!
Pizza and More
The menu at 450 Gradi is quite extensive, and it’s worth asking about their daily specials. As a delightful starter, I highly recommend their provolone, even though it’s not a standard menu item. They offer a variety of appetizers and salads, as well as a selection of meat, fish, and rice dishes.
You can find the classic favorites like diavola and capricciosa, but they also feature a pretty nice array of special pizzas. One personal favorite is the delizia, a unique white pizza with a pistachio cream base, topped with mozzarella, mortadella, grana padano, ground pistachios, a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil, fresh basil, and a dollop of ricotta cheese in the center. I love it!
You might also want to try the salsiccia patata provola or their special 450 Gradi pizza. They bring a tasty and unique spin to your pizza adventure.
There’s more to explore on their menu, like fillet steak and lasagne, which look and taste great, according to happy diners on Google Maps.
Reservation Recommended
Keep in mind that 450 Gradi can get busy during dinner hours, so making a reservation is a good idea. Although it can be a bit pricey, especially for pasta and pizza, the food quality and the cozy atmosphere make it a good choice for a special meal.
If you’re looking for a blend of Italian flavors, interesting presentation, and a touch of gold, 450 Gradi is a restaurant to consider when you’re in Maspalomas.
