I’m excited to share with you all about the interational community on Gran Canaria, specifically in the capital city of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. As the founder of the Live it up, Las Palmas! community, I’m thrilled to say that we are now close to 10,000 members (as of January 2024) and still growing fast!
Joining our community means access to a wealth of knowledge, resources, and most importantly, like-minded people who are all working remotely or living the digital nomad lifestyle. We’ve created a supportive and active community that will help you settle in and make the most of your time on the island.
Here are some key details about our international community in Gran Canaria that you should know:
The Majority Of Our Community Is Located In Las Palmas de Gran Canaria
While there are digital nomads and remote workers spread across the island, the majority of our community is based in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. This makes it easy to connect with others, attend events, and share experiences about living and working in the city.
Growing communities in Agaete and Maspalomas
Our international community in Gran Canaria has continued to grow and expand beyond Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. While the fast majority of our (almost) 10,000 members are still located in the capital city, we are excited to see small communities forming in other areas of the island, such as Agaete and Maspalomas.
In Agaete, located on the northwest coast of Gran Canaria, a small but growing community remote workers has formed. With its stunning natural landscapes and slower pace of life, Agaete provides a peaceful and inspiring environment for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life.
Meanwhile, in Maspalomas, located in the south of the island, more and more remote workers are discovering the benefits of living and working in this popular tourist destination. With its warm climate, beautiful beaches, and lively atmosphere, Maspalomas offers a unique blend of relaxation and productivity.
For both locations, we have a dedicated channel in Slack to make it easy to connect with community members in these areas.
