Live it up, Las Palmas! is an international community based in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, connecting digital nomads, expats, remote workers, immigrants, and local professionals who have chosen to build part of their lives on this island.

Founded by Nelleke Meijer, a former digital nomad who decided to stay for good, the community exists to make life in Gran Canaria easier, more social, and more connected. What started as simple meetups has grown into a network of over 10,000 members who share advice, recommendations, opportunities, and real-life experiences.

At its core, this community is about connection. Not forced networking, but genuine interaction. Helping each other with paperwork. Sharing trusted local contacts. Organising dinners. Finding your first friends on the island. Asking questions without feeling silly.

The main space lives on Slack, where members exchange information about housing, healthcare, coworking spaces, schools, restaurants, events, and everyday life in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and beyond.

Live it up, Las Palmas! is independent and community-led. It is built and run entirely by one volunteer, and every contribution helps support the time and effort behind it.
