Las Palmas de Gran Canaria offers a few opportunities for skateboarding, but it is important to be aware of the local regulations to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.

Please note that these are answers and recommendations from community members and their personal experiences. Answers can be slightly edited for clarity.

Regulations for skateboarding

Skateboarders are allowed to skate in areas where cars are driving, but not on sidewalks. Signs that read “except bicycles” allow skateboarding as well. This means that by the beach (on Paseo de Las Canteras), from the auditorium to La Puntilla, skaters may ride during the night between 10PM and 8AM, same as cyclists. It is important to note that riding a skateboard on Paseo de Las Canteras is not allowed outside of those hours. Skaters should always be mindful of their surroundings and avoid causing any disturbance or damage.

Skate parks in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria

One of the most popular skateboarding locations in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is the skatepark behind the auditorium. This park offers a range of obstacles for skaters of various skill levels and is well-maintained for a safe experience. The skatepark near Santa Catalina is currently under construction, with updates to come.

The park behind the Auditorium (Litoral El Rincón Park) is usable now, there are not too many things for skateboarding, just some ramps, but good for practice for beginners. Usually there are some skateboarders in the afternoons. The street workout part was destroyed for one of the parties during carnival, but after that they moved most of the equipment back (in a worse construction, of course.)

Yesterday I saw that on top of San Telmo bus station they put some wood ramps.

In conclusion, while Las Palmas de Gran Canaria may not be a skateboarding paradise, it does offer a few opportunities for those interested in trying it out! If you have information to add, please reply in the comments below.
