Where do you recommend to go running in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria?
There’s a running track here, Ciudad Deportiva (Google Maps link) or Parque Romano (Google Maps link) but that’s not exactly a running trail.
Run on the beach when the tide is out!
If you use Strava, you can follow local folks in the app and see where they are usually go. This helped me find some good tracks when I came here.
For asphalt/track training, I struggled last year to find the right place, so I just kept running around the city. The benefit is that you will know all zones of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria like no one else.
I run on Las Canteras (both beach and boulevard). I’ve also found Parque Romano with a 1 km long circuit, but the track looks multipurpose, and I am afraid there’ll be a lot of people with dogs or walking / standing. There’s also Ciudad Deportiva.
On the opposite side of Playa de Las Canteras, along by the marnina there’s a large footpath (Avenida Marítima) that runs along beside the bicycle track. It’s the other side of the road opposite parque romano. It runs south for quite a distance. I find it good to run on as there’s lots of space and fewer people getting in your way like on the Paseo de Las Canteras.
