What are the entry requirements?
To enter the Canary Islands you need to fill in the SPTH form and have a COVID passport. This means, you need one of the three things below:
– fully vaccinated
– recovery certificate
– negative PCR test max 48 hours old / negative antigen test max 24 hours old

Do I need a COVID passport when I come from mainland Spain?
No, you no longer need to show proof of vaccination/recovery certificate/negative test to enter the Canary Islands from Spain. Untill March 15 this rule was in place, but this is now lifted.

Can I travel between the Canary Islands?
Yes, you can travel between the different Canary Islands without extra restrictions. No test, vaccine or recovery certificate is needed.

Is there a curfew in the Canary Islands?
No, there is no curfew in the Canary Islands.

Is nightlife open in the Canary Islands?
Yes, nightlife is open and closing time is 4AM (if the venue has the right license). Dancing is still not allowed, though.

Do I need a COVID passport to enter bars, clubs and restaurants?
No, it is not allowed to ask guests for a covid passport to enter. Everyone is welcome.

Do I have to wear a mask outdoors?
In general you do not need to wear a mask outdoors. The only exception is at large outdoor events, when attendees are standing.

Do I have to wear a mask indoors?
Yes, you do. In every public space you need to wear a mask, covering nose and chin. This includes bars and restaurants; when seated you don’t need to wear the mask, but when getting up from your seat (to walk to the exit/bar/toilet, for example) you need to wear your mask.

Is there a maximum groupsize in public/private?
Yes, the maximum group size is 12 people. This means, that in a bar or restaurant you can have a maximum of 12 people at a table. In private, this means you can only have 12 people in your home.

Is smoking banned on terraces?
Yes, it it. You are not allowed to smoke on open air terraces. You need to keep at least 2 meters distance from the terrace and other people. This includes other smokers.

Where can I get a PCR or antigen test?
Red Canaria Laboratorios does quick and cheap covid tests. Interclininc on Las Canteras is fast and convenient; you can get your PCR test done in the morning (before 1PM) and you will get the results around 5PM the same day.

Can I get a saliva PCR test in Las Palmas?
Hospital La Paloma (close to Playa Alcaravaneras) is the only center in Gran Canaria where you can get a PCR saliva test. The price is (at moment of writing) €140.
