Opening a bank account in Spain as a foreigner is a straightforward process, with several options available to make it quick and hassle-free. If you’re looking for an online bank that offers a Spanish IBAN for easy access and withdrawals, consider N26, which also provides an English app interface. N26 is known for its user-friendly approach. Another option is Rebel, a Spanish startup that resembles N26. For those seeking a more robust banking experience and are Spanish residents, Openbank, a part of the Santander group, is a reliable choice.
To withdraw money without paying a fee, I recommend N26 with a Spanish IBAN. Rebel is a N26 clone Spanish startup. If you need a more powerful bank account and you are a resident, I recommend Openbank (Santander group).
If you prefer to interact in English, Bankinter near Santa Catalina is a recommended option, as they can assist you in English. ING is currently opening accounts only for individuals with a NIE verde, while Santander and Revolut allow you to open an account with a white NIE, making it accessible to a broader range of foreigners. You can also explore bunq, which offers a Spanish IBAN and boasts a quick and easy account opening process through their mobile app. These options cater to various preferences and needs, making it convenient for expats and foreigners to set up a bank account in Spain.
